Sept. 23, 2009. Smart Gilas won 70 to 67. I really thought the GILAS would trash the Slingers, with only 2 American imports and Al Vergara and the rest looks like Singaporean or from china. The Slingers played hard but the better team won that night. Japeth Aguilar with his size has a soft touch from the perimeter together with CJ Giles, they did most of the damage from the paint, offense and defense. Galeng ng game ! I think SMART gilas played only 40% of their potential coz in this game it was clear that their cohesion is not at the level that they played in during the FIBA Champions cup.
