I also think Pacman’s true weight was always at light welter/ welter because of his size in the lower weights. He is a freak because he could strip the weight with ease. Now he doesnt have to look at cutting weight and work more on tactics and his own technical ability because this weight suits him.I think the Myth surrounding his size can now be put to bed. Against Hatton, Cotto and even Dela hoya, he looked bigger than his opponent. His weight has never been an issue just a myth.
Dela hoya was drained before the fight because he hasnt fought at that weight since 2001. Hatton lost the fight before he got into the ring. Im not trying to knock his credentials in any way, just wondering whether he would of got where he is today if the decision was the otherway against Marquez. Its weird because at the lower weights, Pacman was always the bigger guy, but now he looks right at home at welter. … dude, he may have struggled against Marquez but that was before HIS improvement… if you watched all his fights, you’ll notice that starting his knockout of Diaz, he has incredibly improved his right shots… because of that, he killed both Dela Hoya (TKO
and Hatton (TKO 2) w/c, for Mayweather was only split decision and TKO 10 respectively… but, you’ll never know the odds… for me, i see both the possibility of both guys winning and losing…
Would pacman be where he is today IF he never got the controversial win against Marquez?? He is an all time great but he struggled against Marquez who is infact a counter puncher, just like FLoyd Maywhether but floyd is the Best COunter puncher/defensive boxer in the world. I would like Pacman to win but i cant see him winning against Floyd.
